PI System Configuration
This activity is normally performed during the installation of the PI OPC UA Server; however, it can be run independently using the Configurator program from the AVEVA Program Folder.

Available Systems
This lists known PI Systems. By default, a client that connects to the PI OPC UA Server may browse and perform data operations on all PI Systems that are added to the Known Servers Table (KST) on the machine where the PI OPC UA Server is installed. The recommended tool for updating the KST is PI System Explorer, which is included in the installer for PI OPC UA Server.
Choose to browse either all servers or only those selected to apply this configuration.

Choose All Servers in Known Servers Table to accept all servers listed, or
Note: The KST is defined in PI System Explorer. Also, selecting Refresh updates the contents of the table.

Choose Selected Servers Only and select the servers required.

Select Configure to save your changes.
Authentication
For authenticating to the PI Systems (2023 or higher) listed in the Known Servers table, two options are available. Select the option necessary for authentication against all servers listed in the KST.

If chosen, select Add.

Enter the Client ID and Client Secret and select Save. Client Secrets are stored encrypted.

Select Configure to save your changes.
OPC UA Access
Select the access required, which determines the type of access to all servers in the KST. The PI Servers are configured separately.

Read Only: cannot write back to PI Systems.

Read and Write: enable ability to write data back to PI Systems.
Select Configure to save your changes.
