Splits bounded plate bounding elements at section intersections.
Note:
If the bounded plate is selected as an element to split, it will be split as well
as the bounding elements.
On the Sections tab, in the Modify group, select Split.
Alternatively, on the Plates tab, in the Modify group, select Split.
You are prompted to Select element(s) to split
Note:
The prompt does not display if the bounding element is already selected.
Click to identify a bounding element to split.
You are then prompted to Select element(s) to split or <Next>
Note:
The prompt does not display if the bounding element is already selected.
The prompt is repeated, allowing you to identify multiple bounding elements to split.
Input N at the prompt and press Enter to specify the split points.
You are then prompted to Select element(s) to split with or <Plane (1 point)>
Click to identify an intersecting section to define a split point.
You are then prompted to Select element(s) to split with or <Next>
The prompt is repeated, allowing you to identify multiple sections and define additional split points.
Input N at the prompt and press Enter to end the command. The bounding elements are split at the intersecting split points.
Throughout the split process you can press ESC to cancel the command. Additional functionality is also available.

Press the down arrow key and select Next to proceed to the next split process. |
|
Plane (1 point) |
Press the down arrow key and select Plane (1 point) to split a bounding element using a plane defined by one picked point. Refer to Split Bounded Plate Bounding Elements using a Plane for further information. |
|
Plane (2 points) |
Press the down arrow key and select Plane (2 points) to split a bounding element using a plane defined by two picked points. Refer to Split Bounded Plate Bounding Elements using a Plane for further information. |
|
Plane (3 points) |
Press the down arrow key and select Plane (3 points) to split a bounding element using a plane defined by three picked points. Refer to Split Bounded Plate Bounding Elements using a Plane for further information. |

The new GENSEC elements display in the Model Explorer. The structural connections of each split bounded plate are updated. Refer to Split Bounded Plate Bounding Element Structural Connections for further information.
