PI Trust Database

A configuration database used by the PI Server to store trust entries that authenticate PI API and PI SDK applications based on machine, user, or executable attributes. It enables unattended or service-level access to the Data Archive and supports scenarios where Windows identity mappings are not available. Trusts are considered a legacy security mechanism and should be replaced by mappings to Windows identities whenever possible.
