Create a project

A project aims to achieve a specific goal in a certain period of time. For example, a project to build a ship, power plant, submarine, and so on.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, complete the following:

• Ensure a legal entity is created in the s00009 Legal Entities screen. For more information, see Create a legal entity.

• Ensure a calendar is created in the s00026 Calendar screen. For more information, see Create a calendar.

• Ensure a measurement scheme is created in the s00070 Measurement Schemes screen. For more information, see Create a measurement scheme.

To create a project

1. Navigate to the s10001 Projects screen.

2. To refresh the screen, select the F5 key.

3. On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Create.

   In the Projects grid, a blank row is created.

4. Select the General 1 tab and enter the relevant details in the following fields:

   • Project Id: The unique ID of a project.

   • Description: The description of the project.

   • Legal entity: The legal entity responsible for the project.

   • Start Date: The planned start date of the project.

   • Finish Date: The planned end date of the project.

   • Default Calendar: The default calendar related to the project.

   • Measurement Scheme: The measurement scheme used for the project.

   • Automated Mto Priority: The priority number given to each site MTO in the project.

5. (Optional) Enter the relevant details in other fields as required. For more information on all the fields, see s10001 Field descriptions.

6. On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Save.

   The project is created.
