Create an implied item rule for a specification

Create an implied item rule for a specification and define the conditions under which the implied item rule is applicable for a Material Take-Off (MTO) item or a part list item. You can define the quantity of the implied item for an MTO item or a part list item.

1. Navigate to the s21016 Implied Item Rules screen.

2. In the Current Project control block, from the Project dropdown, select the ID of the required project.

3. Select anywhere in the Part List Item Rules grid.

4. On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Create.

   In the Part List Item Rules grid, a row is created.

5. In the Part List Item Rules grid, select the General tab and perform the following:

   1. From the Rules Basis dropdown, select Specification.

   2. From the Rule Type dropdown, select one of the following:

      • Substitute: To create a rule to replace the defined quantity of a source item with another item.

      • Implied: To create a rule to add implied items to the source item.

   3. In the Id field, enter the unique ID of an implied item rule.

   4. In the Description field, enter the description of the implied item rule.

   5. From Specification dropdown, select the name and description of a specification.

   6. From the Component Type dropdown, select the ID of the component type related to the specification defined in the Specification field.

   7. In the Quantity field, enter the quantity of an MTO item related to the implied item rule.

      For example, for flanges, if the value in the Quantity field is set as 2, the system applies the rule for each instance of 2 flanges.

6. Select anywhere in the Part List Item Rule Details grid.

7. On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Create.

   In the Part List Item Rule Details grid, a row is created.

8. In the Part List Item Rule Details, select the General tab and perform the following:

   1. From the Rules Basis dropdown, select Specification.

   2. From Specification dropdown, select the name and description of a specification.

   3. In the Quantity field, enter the quantity of the implied item.

   4. From the Short Code dropdown, select the short code related to the specification defined in the Specification field.

9. On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Save.

   The implied item rule is created for a specification.
